Week six saw a couple big-name injuries but thankfully none appear to be season-ending. Baker Mayfield struggled and appeared to either re-injure himself or essentially get benched due to the blowout.
Several big name running backs suffered injuries in week six, unfortunately sticking with the worrisome trend. Joe Mixon briefly left with a foot injury, likely a sprain as he ended up returning.A very good sign which usually means there is no fracture. The Baltimore Ravens’ Mark Ingram suffered an ankle injury and is unlikely to return until week eight, likely meaning he’s dealing with either a moderate lateral low ankle sprain or a high ankle sprain.
The Philadelphia Eagles can’t seem to catch a break. Despite putting up monster numbers on the ground, Miles Sanders unfortunately suffered a knee injury that initially appeared concerning but looks like he will only miss 2 to 3 weeks. The timing is unfortunate as they play on Thursday night
, and then again in 10 days
before a bye. Already without tight end Dallas Goedert, and the majority of their wide receivers, the Eagles lost Zack Ertz with a high ankle sprain for at least 3 to 5 weeks.
After recently returning from a knee sprain, the San Francisco 49ers Raheem Mostert unfortunately suffered a high-ankle sprain, and is likely going to miss at least three weeks, possibly up to five. Look for him to go to short term IR, with the goal of returning after Week 10.
Several big-name wide receivers return from injury this week, including Davante Adams, Julio Jones and Chris Godwin. Although DJ Chark returned, he did not do very well, only catching 7 out of his 14 targets for 45 yards. Julio Jones‘ hamstring fared much better than his last game as he put up monster numbers in his return.
Despite returning after dealing with the combination of calf and knee injuries for the past few weeks, John Brown was held catchless in his return.
Despite putting up solid numbers the Minnesota Vikings‘ Adam Thielen appears to have possibly re-injured his shoulder. He was dealing with a shoulder injury a couple weeks ago, but did not miss any time. This is something to monitor.
The Dolphins’ DeVante Parker unfortunately suffered a groin strain, but thankfully the Dolphins’ have a bye in week 7, and Parker may be able to return without missing any games.
The Tennessee Titans continue to impress, as they head into week seven as one of the only undefeated teams remaining. Jonnu Smith unfortunately suffered an ankle injury that limited him for most of the game. Early reports are that this is a mild injury and he has a very good chance of playing in a big matchup against the Steelers in week seven.
The Jacksonville Jaguars’ Tyler Eifert, who had been dealing with a neck injury for the past several weeks, unfortunately re-injured this same injury again.
The majority of these injuries are discussed extensively in their own individual videos below, but there is a good summary provided here: https://youtu.be/gIbqhL_L7vw
